Our project is directly contributing to the realization of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals
The purpose of the project is to support impoverished children from poor backgrounds, and AIDS- orphans in particular. In addition to that, the promotion of intercultural exchange lies at the heart of the project.
Vision
‘Solidarity with Orphans‘ is working together with a number of partners in order to create a promising and lasting perspective for the future of HIV/ AIDS orphans. The methodology of the project is heavily drawing on the concept of ‘Help for Self-help‘. It is crucial for us to conciliate our efforts with the ideas of our partners in Africa. By means of intense communication, projects are implemented into local structures.
We want to provide young boys and girls with the opportunity to undergo a process of personal development and maturity. At the end of such a process should emerge a person who is able to lead an independent life. In an ideal case, formerly supported adults uphold a strong bond with the project and support it within their given possibilities.
The activities of the organization are two-fold: First of all, the provision of basic goods to the orphans and secondly, the mediation of education and vocational training.
The organization perceives itself as an open platform to which any interested person is, according to her/ his capabilities, interests and the available time to her/ him, welcome to contribute. The gain is of a personal nature: the result cannot be associated with a selling of indulgences, but one of a cultural movement, in which every person can experience oneself in new ways and forms.
